I’m Back!

Hello! It’s been awhile. I’ve been a little busy, but now I’m back!

I’ve actually been taking a course, a very intensive, coding course with Le Wagon Tel Aviv.

I never really talked much about my life outside of this blog, so I guess a little background would be nice. Several years ago (more years than I’d like to admit), I graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration (with a focus in accounting). I never really planned on being an accountant forever, but it’s a very stable job, so I stuck with it.

When my husband and I decided to move to Israel, I saw an opportunity to take some time to reflect and peruse a career that I really enjoyed. I chose study coding because it still has the technical challenges of accounting, but allows me to be creative.

Starting a new career can be scary. I knew that I’d be at least ten years older than most of my classmates, and I was worried that I wouldn’t catch on as fast. I also had to deal with some pride issues; I was a manager in my previous job and knowing that I’d be an entry level developer was a little hard on my ego. However, I believe that to be successful we have to enjoy what we are doing, and that idea was enough to drive me to change.

Learning a new skill from scratch is really challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. At the start of the 9-week program, I felt as though my brain was breaking. On the last day, when we presented our final products, we were able to see just how far we’ve come.

I had hoped to simultaneously keep up with this site, because I love sharing my favorite healthy recipes and ideas, but the course was just too intensive. Now that I’ve “graduated,” I’m super excited to get back to my little olive!

I’m currently working on a range of healthy topics:

  • new smoothie recipes
  • fitness app reviews
  • beauty reviews
  • goal setting
  • reading lists
  • and more…

I look forward to sharing these posts with you!
